Amenities:
Set in a charming Victorian house, we have a number of themed areas available where the children are free to roam from room to room. We offer a flexible approach to childcare with our main focus on the child’s enjoyment- making learning more positive. Each room has adult-lead activities and all children are encouraged to join in.
We follow key curriculum guidelines which ensure children develop valuable leaning skills through play. These are as follows:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication, language and literature
- Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
- Knowledge and understanding of the world (understanding other cultures and traditions)
- Creative devlopment
- Physical devlopment
Our rooms have been designed to ensure the above guidelines are met in the most appropriate environment:
Carpeted quiet room:
A comfortable room that’s perfect for children to learn how to read and write, listen to stories and play with puzzles.
Home corner:
This is a play area with a kitchen and a dress-up box, where children learn how to integrate and play together.
Messy room/ garden room:
Situated in the fully air conditioned conservatory, children are encouraged to get creative and play with sand, water, Play doh, paints, rice and pasta.
Computer room:
Children are encouraged to use PC’s- enabling them to develop fine motor skills, looking at colours and shapes with the emphasis on number and letter recognition and mathematical learning.
Garden area:
With a newly installed climbing frame, slide and 12ft enclosed trampoline, children will have a great time exercising! They can also enjoy playing in the Wendy house or on our pirate ship, prams, trains, bikes and an extensive selection of other exciting toys. What’s more we have a music teacher who visits our school on a weekly basis conducting musical movement and singing workshops with the children.
Quite garden:
We grow fruit and vegetables including beans, carrots, potatoes, raspberries and strawberries.
We provide all children with milk and fresh fruit at circle time but we do ask that children bring a packed lunch which we’ll happily refrigerate until lunch time.
